**Remember to love yourself. At the end of the day, only you have to live with yourself, no one else has to.**
Individuals that have never experienced depression do not understand that it consumes your every being. It goes to show that even though it is a mental illness, depression makes you feel weak and useless. There is a void inside of you that feels as if it will be there forever. And even when you have finished fighting your demons, that void will always be there to remind you of the times that life was not worth living. |
To those of you that believe that mental illnesses are not the same as other illnesses. These change your brain and make you function differently than normal.
Screw the bullies.
Screw the television.
Screw the people who make back-handed comments about how you look.
Screw the lies they tell you about yourself.
You don’t have to be afraid of the mirror.
Do not be afraid of the mirror.
Do not flinch when you catch a glimpse of yourself in it.
Do not hide from photos.
Do not look away.
Play with things that let you express yourself and make you feel positive, like clothing, haircuts, hair colors, hair styles, make up, and whatever you want. It isn't lying to anyone, it is art. It is expression. Try new things!
Look at yourself inside and out. See yourself as you are and accept it. Love it.
Have fun, not doubts.
If you’re worried about health, don’t put a number or size on it, put a task. Swim laps. Finally learn to ride a bike. Rank higher on a Dance Dance Revolution song. Have fun, not doubts.

“When I first learned that no one could ever love me more than me
a world of happiness previously unseen was discovered
because somewhere along the line of aging and scrutiny and time
I was taught to despise myself
but I made sure I kept myself beautiful so someone would love me someday
so I could belong to someone someday
because that’s the most important thing a little girl could ever want, right?
We all end up with our heads between our knees
because the only place we’ll ever truly feel safe
is curled up inside skin we've been taught to hate
by a society that shuns our awful confidence and feeds us our own flaws
and sometimes when I need to meet the me that loves me, I can’t find her,
a reminder that the mirror is meant to be a curse so I confine her in my mind
but when he or she shouts let me out
we’re allowed to listen.
since when was loving who we are made an offense by morons that don’t matter?
you can’t surrender to them
you gotta remember you’re the only thing you’ll ever truly have
and no I don’t mean your body because someday it’ll go bad no matter what you do
I mean you
I mean the way your bright eyes go wild when you smile
and how your laughter’s so melodic it’s a song
I mean the way your creativity’s a compass that leads you to what you love
and when you start to drown in petty expectations
you better examine the miracle of your existence
because you’re worth so much more than your waistline
you’re worth the beautiful thoughts you think
and the daring dreams you dream, undone and drunk off alcohol of being
standards don’t define you
you don't live to meet credentials established by a madman
you're a goddamn treasure whether you wanna believe it or not
and maybe that’s what everyone should start looking for.”

This image states an important fact about our bodies.
There are two people, each 130 LBS.
One of them has 20% body fat, the other has 35% body fat
All of the fat in a body only takes up space and is not used at muscle, but its just waste connected to you.
The less body fat someone has, the slimmer the person is. This is why exercise is such an important part of the day.
I personally run, do yoga, weight lifts, and do random sets.
All of those things make me have more energy and help me gain muscle while losing fat at the same time.

"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me." This phrase is very wrong in my opinion because if someone punches you, it wont stick with you for life. But if someone tells you that you are fat, ugly, and a waste of space, that will be with you for a very long time, replaying in your head.
I know that speaking out can be truly hard, but it will be worth it in the end. If you have a problem you need to deal with, you should speak to someone about it and receive the help you deserve. This image shows the idea that just saying, "it's fine," and smiling is not enough. At the end of the day, only you have to live with yourself, no one else.
I think this image should be terribly important to everyone out there. This marked a really important part of the show, "That's So Raven." It really made me happy that this was what Disney Channel was about. Also, i think that everyone should look at this moment. It's at a fashion show and "Raven" steps up to the skinny manager model person. She shows everyone that the dress looks even better on her than the skinny anorexic model that was going to wear the same dress. Sadly, Disney Channel is not like that anymore and does not promote being happy with yourself and your body as they used to before. R.I.P to the old Disney. We all miss you.
P.S. the gif looks weird and is transparent but if you click on it, the gif should play normally.
